HOT YOGA UNITY
MEMBERSHIP TERMS AND CONDITIONS
1 October 2026
PLEASE READ THESE TERMS CAREFULLY BEFORE YOU BUY A MEMBERSHIP OR BOOK A CLASS.
They set out what you can expect from us and what we expect from you. Some of them affect your rights — in particular clause 5 (minimum term and cancellation), clause 6 (freezes), clause 7 (booking charges), clause 8 (package expiry) and clause 12 (suspension and termination). Take the time to read those clauses in full. If anything is unclear, ask us before you buy.
1. WHO WE ARE AND WHAT THESE TERMS COVER
1.1 These terms and conditions form the contract between you and the company that operates your Home Studio. That company is named in Schedule A, together with its company number, registered office, trading address and contact details. In these terms, “we”, “us” and “our” mean that company, and “the Studio” means the premises named for it in Schedule A.
1.2 Hot Yoga Unity is the trading name of a group of studios operated by separate companies. Each studio is operated by its own company. Your contract is with the company operating your Home Studio only, and no other company in the group is a party to it.
1.3 Where your membership or package entitles you to attend classes at more than one Hot Yoga Unity studio, those other studios provide access to you under arrangements made with us. Your contractual rights remain against us.
1.4 In these terms:
“App” means the Hot Yoga Unity mobile application, available through the Apple App Store and Google Play.
“Booking System” means the online booking platform we use from time to time, currently Momence, together with the App and the Website.
“Class” means any class, course or workshop provided by or on behalf of a Hot Yoga Unity studio.
“Fees” means the amounts payable by you for a Membership, Package or Class.
“Home Studio” means the studio named as such in your membership record, being the studio whose operating company you contract with.
“Member” means any person who has registered an account, purchased a Membership or Package, or booked or attended a Class.
“Fixed-Term Membership” means a Membership paid for in full in advance which runs for a fixed period stated at the point of purchase. We currently offer Fixed-Term Memberships of six and twelve months.
“Membership” means a Rolling Membership or a Fixed-Term Membership.
“Rolling Membership” means a monthly subscription that renews automatically each month until cancelled.
“Package” means a bundle of class credits, including drop-in classes and class cards.
“Website” means the website named for your Home Studio in Schedule A, and hotyogaunity.com.
1.5 By registering an account, booking a Class, purchasing a Membership or Package, or entering the Studio, you agree to be bound by these terms.
1.6 The singular includes the plural and vice versa. Headings are for convenience only and do not affect interpretation.
2. BECOMING A MEMBER
2.1 Acceptance of any person as a Member is at our discretion.
2.2 You must be aged 16 or over to become a Member or to attend a Class.
2.3 You must give us accurate information when you register and keep your contact details up to date. We may refuse or end a Membership where information you gave us was false and would reasonably have affected our decision to accept you.
2.4 No deposit is payable.
2.5 Before your first Class you must complete our health declaration and waiver. You must tell your teacher about any injury, medical condition or pregnancy before each Class, and must update us if your circumstances change.
3. MEMBERSHIP AND PACKAGE TYPES
3.1 Rolling Memberships. A Rolling Membership is a monthly subscription that renews automatically each month until cancelled in accordance with clause 5. Some Rolling Memberships carry a minimum term; others do not. Which applies to your Membership is stated at the point of purchase and in your membership record.
3.2 Fixed-Term Memberships. A Fixed-Term Membership is paid in full in advance and runs for the fixed period stated at the point of purchase, beginning on the start date. A Fixed-Term Membership does not renew automatically and does not commit you to a further term. It ends at the end of its term unless you buy a new Membership. We will contact you before it ends to let you know.
3.3 Packages. A Package is a bundle of class credits subject to an expiry period. Package types, activation requirements and expiry periods are set out in clause 8.
3.4 Workshops. Workshop tickets are valid for twelve months from purchase. Clause 7.5 applies to workshop cancellations.
3.5 Concessions. We may offer concessionary rates of up to 20% off standard peak pricing to categories of Member we specify from time to time. We may ask for proof of eligibility at any time and may withdraw a concession if proof is not provided.
3.6 Single-studio and multi-studio. Some Memberships and Packages give access to your Home Studio only. Others give access to more than one Hot Yoga Unity studio. Which applies is stated at the point of purchase.
3.7 Fees are payable whether or not you attend. Except where these terms expressly provide otherwise, Fees remain payable regardless of how much you use the Studio.
4. FEES AND PAYMENT
4.1 Fees for Rolling Memberships are payable monthly in advance by recurring card payment. Fees for Fixed-Term Memberships, Packages and workshops are payable in full at the point of purchase.
4.2 Current Fees are published on the Website and in the App. The charges set out in Schedule B apply in addition.
4.3 Failed payments. If we are unable to collect a payment when due, we will make up to three further attempts to collect it over the following seven days, and will let you know each time an attempt fails. If the third attempt also fails, your Membership will be cancelled automatically. You remain liable for any Fees that fell due before cancellation. If you subsequently rejoin, you will do so at the Fees then current, even if your previous Membership was at an older or promotional rate.
4.4 Changes to Fees. We may change the Fees for Rolling Memberships. We will give you at least 30 days’ written notice before an increase takes effect. If you do not wish to continue at the new rate you may cancel your Membership without penalty by giving us notice to take effect on or before the date the increase applies, and clause 5.4 will not apply to that cancellation. This clause does not apply to Fixed-Term Memberships, Packages or workshops, which are paid in advance at the price applying when you bought them.
5. MINIMUM TERM AND CANCELLATION BY YOU
5.1 Your 14-day cancellation right. You may cancel any Membership, Package or workshop ticket within 14 days of purchase and receive a refund. Where you have attended Classes during that period, we will deduct the value of the Classes taken at our standard drop-in rate before refunding the balance. Refunds are made within 30 days to the payment method used.
5.2 Minimum term. Where your Rolling Membership carries a minimum term, that term is four months from the start date. You are committed to paying the Fees for the whole of the minimum term.
5.3 What happens after the minimum term. At the end of the minimum term your Membership continues as a monthly Rolling Membership on the same terms. It does not commit you to a further minimum term.
5.4 Cancelling a Rolling Membership. After the minimum term, you may cancel by giving us 30 days’ written notice. Your Membership will end, and your access will cease, 30 days after we receive your notice. Fees falling due within the notice period remain payable.
5.5 Cancelling within the minimum term. We do not charge an early termination fee. However, if you cancel during the minimum term you remain liable for the Fees for the remainder of that term.
5.6 Fixed-Term Memberships, Packages and workshops.Once the 14-day period in clause 5.1 has passed, Fixed-Term Memberships, Packages and workshop tickets are non-refundable and cannot be cancelled before the end of their term. This applies whether or not you are able to attend, including where you are unable to attend for medical reasons, because you have moved, or because of a change in your employment. Clause 6.4 sets out the medical freeze available to you instead.
5.7 When we will still refund you. Clauses 5.5 and 5.6 do not apply, and you remain entitled to a refund, where:
(a) we are in breach of this contract or have failed to provide the Classes with reasonable care and skill;
(b) we suspend or end your Membership other than on the grounds in clause 12.1 or 12.2; or
(c) you are exercising a right given to you by law.
Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.
5.8 How to give notice. Notice to cancel must be in writing and sent to any of the studio email addresses listed in Schedule A. Cancelling a card payment or contacting us by telephone does not constitute notice. We will acknowledge your notice within 5 working days; if you do not receive an acknowledgement, contact us so we can check we received it.
6. FREEZES
6.1 Fixed-Term Memberships. You may freeze a Fixed-Term Membership for up to 30 days in any 12-month period, with a minimum freeze of 7 days. Where your Fixed-Term Membership runs for less than 12 months, this allowance is reduced proportionately, so a six-month Membership may be frozen for up to 15 days in total.
6.2 Rolling Memberships. You may freeze a Rolling Membership for up to 30 days in any membership year. Where your Membership carries a minimum term, you may not freeze it until you have completed the first four months of that term.
6.3 Packages. Packages may be frozen only on medical grounds under clause 6.4.
6.4 Medical freeze. We will consider a medical freeze on a case-by-case basis on production of a doctor’s note. A medical freeze may run for up to 12 months.
6.5 General. All freeze requests must be made in writing between 48 and 72 hours before the freeze is to begin. Freezes cannot be backdated and cannot start after your existing Membership or Package has expired. No administration fee is charged for a freeze. Your Membership or Package restarts automatically at the end of the freeze period. Where you hold a Fixed-Term Membership or a Package, its end date is extended by the length of the freeze.
7. BOOKING, ATTENDANCE AND CHARGES
7.1 Booking. Classes may be booked up to 14 days in advance through the Booking System. Bookings close 30 minutes before a Class starts.
7.2 Waiting lists. Where a Class is full you may join the waiting list. Up to two hours before the Class starts, you may be moved automatically from the waiting list into the Class and will be notified. After that point, places are allocated manually.
7.3 Check-in. Please arrive at least 15 minutes before your Class. If you have not checked in 15 minutes before the start time, we may release your place to another Member.
7.4 Late arrival. For health and safety reasons, no entry is permitted once a Class has started. There are no exceptions.
7.5 Late cancellation and non-attendance. You may cancel a booking without charge up to 6 hours before the Class starts. If you cancel later than that, or do not attend a Class you have booked:
(d) if you hold a Membership, the charge set out in Schedule B applies; or
(e) if you hold a Package, one class credit will be deducted.
This applies equally where you were moved into the Class automatically from a waiting list.
7.6 Repeated non-attendance. If you late-cancel or fail to attend booked Classes three times within any one month, your booking rights will be suspended automatically and you will be notified by email. Your booking rights will be restored once you contact your Home Studio. Your Membership continues and Fees remain payable during any such suspension.
7.7 Abuse of the booking system. We may restrict or suspend your ability to book Classes where we reasonably believe you are misusing the Booking System, including by holding places you do not intend to use, booking on behalf of others, or operating more than one account.
8. PACKAGES — VALIDITY, ACTIVATION AND SHARING
8.1 Validity.
(f) A drop-in class is valid for 365 days from purchase.
(g) A 10 Class Card must be activated within 1 month of purchase and, once activated, is valid for 3 months.
(h) A 20 Class Card must be activated within 1 month of purchase and, once activated, is valid for 6 months.
(i) A workshop ticket is valid for 12 months from purchase.
A Package is activated when the first Class on it is taken.
8.2 No extensions. Packages cannot be extended. Unused credits expire at the end of the validity period and are not refundable or transferable into another Package. Clause 6.4 sets out the medical freeze available in cases of illness or injury.
8.3 Sharing. Class cards may be shared with another person, but only by arrangement with the Studio in advance. They are not freely transferable. All other Memberships and Packages are personal to you and may not be shared, sold or transferred. Attending under another person’s name may result in suspension or termination under clause 12.
9. INTRODUCTORY OFFERS
9.1 Introductory offers are limited to one per person and are available to new customers only. They cannot be used more than once, whether at the same studio or at any other Hot Yoga Unity studio.
9.2 Where you purchase an introductory offer for which you are not eligible, we may cancel the purchase and refund the amount paid. We will notify you when we do so. Any Classes already taken on an ineligible introductory offer may be charged at our standard drop-in rate.
9.3 Creating additional accounts in order to obtain further introductory offers is a breach of these terms and may result in termination under clause 12.
10. BOOKINGS MADE THROUGH THIRD-PARTY PLATFORMS
10.1 We make a limited number of places available through third-party booking platforms. Where you book through such a platform, the booking itself is a contract between you and that platform, and the platform’s terms govern that booking — including payment, credits, cancellation and any refund for it. Those matters are not governed by these terms.
10.2 Everything else in these terms applies to you while you are in the Studio and in your dealings with us, whichever way you booked. That includes in particular clause 2.5 (health declaration), clauses 7.3 and 7.4 (check-in and late arrival), clause 11 (conduct), clause 12 (suspension and termination), clause 14 (your health and safety), clause 15 (personal property) and clause 16 (photography). Completing our health declaration and waiver is a condition of entry however you booked.
10.3 We may limit the number of places released to third-party platforms for any Class, and may withdraw from any platform at any time.
10.4 Bookings made through a third-party platform do not carry Membership benefits, freeze rights, loyalty entitlements or booking priority.
10.5 Late cancellation and non-attendance on a third-party booking are dealt with under that platform’s policy, not clause 7.5.
10.6 We may refuse entry where a third-party booking is invalid, has expired, or where the person attending does not match the account that made the booking. Where we refuse you entry, or end your access under clause 12, any refund for a booking made through a third-party platform is a matter between you and that platform.
11. CONDUCT
11.1 We expect all Members to behave respectfully and appropriately towards our teachers, our staff and other Members, and to follow the Studio rules and any reasonable instruction given by our team.
11.2 We will not accept behaviour that is rude, disrespectful, abusive, intimidating, harassing, discriminatory, threatening or violent, whether directed at our staff, our teachers or other Members. This applies in the Studio, in the surrounding areas, and in all forms of communication with us or about us, including by telephone, email, messaging and social media. The examples given in this clause are not exhaustive.
11.3 You must not use the Studio to promote or deliver your own classes, personal training or other services, or to solicit our Members or teachers, without our written permission.
11.4 You must not photograph or film in the Studio without our permission, and never in changing areas. Where permission is given, you must have the consent of anyone who appears in the image.
11.5 You must not attend if you have an infectious illness or condition, or an open wound.
12. SUSPENSION AND TERMINATION BY US
12.1 Serious grounds — immediate termination. We may end your Membership immediately, without notice, where:
(j) it is necessary for the safety of you, another Member, or our staff;
(k) there is clear evidence that you are abusing the Studio’s services, or allowing another person to do so;
(l) you have behaved in a way that involves serious risk to the interests of the Studio or of other Members, including behaviour falling within clause 11.2; or
(m) your conduct is illegal.
12.2 Other grounds — termination on notice. We may end your Membership where:
(n) you commit a serious breach, or repeatedly breach, these terms or the Studio rules, and do not put it right within 7 days of our written notice asking you to do so;
(o) any Fees remain unpaid 30 days after they fell due; or
(p) you gave us false information when you registered that would reasonably have affected our decision to accept you.
12.3 Suspension pending investigation. Where an incident arises, we may suspend your access while we investigate, if we reasonably believe your continued access could affect the safety of Members or staff, the running of the Studio, or our ability to investigate properly. A suspension will not be imposed because you have made a complaint or exercised your legal rights. It will be kept under review and will last no longer than necessary.
12.4 Procedure. We will write to you setting out the reason for any suspension or termination. Within 7 days of a suspension you may give us your account of events in writing or by telephone. We will tell you the outcome of our investigation in writing. You may appeal a decision under clause 12.2 by writing to us within 14 days; we will tell you who will consider the appeal and when you can expect a response.
12.5 Refunds on termination by us. Where we end or suspend your Membership on the grounds in clause 12.1 or 12.2, no refund is due, and we may retain a reasonable proportion of any amounts paid to cover costs we have incurred. Where we end or suspend your Membership for any other reason, we will refund the unused portion of any Fees you have paid, calculated on a pro rata basis.
12.6 Where we have ended a Membership under clause 12.1, we may decline any future application from you and may refuse you entry to any Hot Yoga Unity studio.
13. CLASSES, TIMETABLES AND CLOSURES
13.1 Timetables. Class times, formats and teachers may change. We will publish the current timetable on the Website and in the App. Teachers may be substituted at any time.
13.2 Temporary closures. We may close the Studio, or part of it, for repairs, maintenance, refurbishment, cleaning, a private event or on public holidays. We will give as much notice as is reasonably possible and will reopen as soon as reasonably possible. No refund is due for a temporary closure of this kind.
13.3 Closures outside our control. Where the Studio is required to close, or is unable to open, for any reason outside our control, we will try, where it is reasonably possible to do so, to give you access to another Hot Yoga Unity studio for the period of the closure. We cannot guarantee that an alternative will be available.
13.4 Where we make an alternative studio available and you take it up, your Membership continues and Fees remain payable as normal. Where no alternative is available, or you tell us that the alternative is not reasonably accessible to you, your Membership will be paused for the duration of the closure and will restart automatically when the Studio reopens, and the expiry date of any Package you hold will be extended by the length of the closure.
14. YOUR HEALTH AND SAFETY
14.1 Yoga and physical exercise carry inherent risks, including injury. You take part voluntarily and at your own risk.
14.2 You are responsible for judging whether you are fit to take part. If you have or have had any injury, cardiovascular or respiratory condition, high or low blood pressure, chronic illness, or any condition requiring medical supervision, you must take medical advice before taking part.
14.3 Our Classes are held in heated conditions. You must ensure you are properly hydrated, and must stop and rest if you feel unwell at any point during a Class. Tell your teacher immediately if you do.
14.4 If you are pregnant you must tell your teacher before taking part. It is your responsibility to obtain and follow medical advice about practising during pregnancy.
14.5 Our teachers are not medical professionals and our Classes are not a substitute for medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.
14.6 You must report any accident or injury in the Studio to a member of our team as soon as possible.
15. PERSONAL PROPERTY
15.1 You bring personal belongings into the Studio at your own risk. Lockers, where provided, are for your convenience during a Class and are not secure storage. Please do not bring valuables to the Studio and do not leave anything in the changing areas.
15.2 We do not accept responsibility for loss of or damage to personal property, for items left in the Studio after it closes, or for items left in an unlocked or unattended locker. Clause 17 sets out the limits of our liability.
15.3 Lost property is kept for 7 days and then disposed of.
16. PHOTOGRAPHY AND MARKETING BY US
16.1 We will not use your image in our marketing unless you have signed our Image Release Waiver. Signing it is voluntary and is not a condition of Membership.
16.2 You may withdraw your consent at any time by writing to us. Withdrawal takes effect for future use; we cannot always remove your image from material already published.
17. OUR LIABILITY
17.1 We do not exclude or limit our liability where it would be unlawful to do so. This includes liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, and for breach of your legal right to have services supplied with reasonable care and skill.
17.2 Subject to clause 17.1, we are not liable for loss or damage that was not foreseeable, or for business losses.
18. YOUR PERSONAL DATA
18.1 We handle your personal data in accordance with our Privacy Policy, which is published on the Website and available in the Booking System.
18.2 Where we have ended a Membership under clause 12, we keep a record of that decision and of the person concerned. Our Privacy Policy explains why we do this, the basis on which we do it, and how long we keep it.
19. CHANGES TO THESE TERMS
19.1 Rolling Memberships. We may change these terms. We will publish the revised terms and notify you. If you do not accept the change, you may end your Membership without penalty by giving us notice within 30 days of the change being published, and we will refund the unused portion of any Fees you have paid for the period after your Membership ends.
19.2 Fixed-Term Memberships, Packages and workshops. The terms that apply to a Fixed-Term Membership, Package or workshop ticket are those in force when you bought it, and do not change during its term.
19.3 We keep a dated copy of each version of these terms. You may ask us at any time for a copy of the version that applies to you.
20. TRANSFER OF THIS CONTRACT
20.1 We may transfer our rights and obligations under this contract to another company. If we do, we will notify you, and your rights under this contract will not be affected.
20.2 If you hold a Rolling Membership and you do not wish to continue after a transfer, you may cancel under clause 5.4. No refund is due, because Rolling Membership Fees are paid monthly in advance.
20.3 If you hold a Fixed-Term Membership or a Package and the company taking over does not provide equivalent facilities and services at the Studio, you may end your Membership by writing to us, and we will refund the unused portion of the Fees you have paid.
20.4 You may not transfer your rights under this contract to anyone else, except as clause 8.3 allows.
21. NOTICES
21.1 Any notice you give us under these terms must be in writing and sent by email to any of the studio addresses listed in Schedule A. A notice sent to any of those addresses is validly given, whichever studio is your Home Studio.
21.2 Any notice we give you will be sent to the email address held in your membership record. It is your responsibility to keep that address current.
21.3 A notice is treated as given on the day it is received, or on the next working day if received outside working hours.
22. COMPLAINTS
22.1 If something goes wrong, tell a member of our team at the Studio as soon as you can so we can put it right. If you are not satisfied, write to us at the email address for your Home Studio in Schedule A, and we will respond within 10 working days.
23. GENERAL
23.1 These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
23.2 If any part of these terms is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining parts continue to apply.
23.3 If we delay in enforcing any part of these terms, that does not prevent us from enforcing it later.
23.4 This contract is between you and us. No other person has any right to enforce it.
24. MEMBERS WHO JOINED BEFORE 1 OCTOBER 2026
24.1 These terms apply to Memberships and Packages purchased on or after 1 October 2026, and to any Membership renewed on or after that date.
24.2 If you bought a Rolling Membership before 1 October 2026 on terms that allowed you to cancel at any time without a notice period, those cancellation terms continue to apply to you until you change or renew your Membership. All other provisions of these terms apply to you from 1 October 2026.
24.3 If you hold a Fixed-Term Membership, Package or workshop ticket bought before 1 October 2026, the terms in force when you bought it continue to apply to it, in accordance with clause 19.2.
